Description:

High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: El Arcangel San Rafael of San Sebastian (master Lorenzo Marques).

History: a Spanish merchant ship (brig, 120 tons, 9 men) bound from Cadiz to London, laden with wine, cochineal, indigo, tiger skins, vanilla, almonds and about 36,700 dollars in specie; taken on 12 July 1779 in latititude 49°30'N by HMS Kite (Henry Trollope commonading) and brought into Plymouth.

Documents: a large bundle of mail in transit; many letters submitted as exhibits; etc.
