The Animal Welfare Advisory Committee is non-statutory committee, and an advisory non-departmental public body to the Ministry of Defence. It was established in 1996, to review, inspect and advise on animal care and welfare arrangements within the Defence, Science and Technology Laboratory. It reports to the Chief Scientific Adviser, Ministry of Defence.
