Administrative / biographical background:

Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ) was established in 1996 to be a tri service headquarters to plan and deliver UK military effects overseas. It replaced the planning and delivery arms of the individual service (Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force) headquarters. From that date it started to produce its own records relating to planning and delivering operations overseas and the number of operational records produced by the individual service headquarters tailed off.
