Folio 338: enclosed with folio 336. V. Bathurst, Rear-Admiral of the Red, George Byng, Court Martial President and Captains, Spithead. John Bowse, the Warspite, guilty of enticing and tempting Richard Hoten to commit an act of buggery. Ten lashes in front of ten ships to the beat of the drum. James Stewart, the Warspite was acquitted of buggery as the only evidence of this was from John Bowse and made to the Lieutenant out of spite.
