Folio 240: Captain Robert Dean, the Chichester, Spithead. The Admiralty has ordered him to complete his complement to the lowest number with all speed. They were in need of 30 or 40 men besides several more that have been absent some time or discharged. He requires 70 or 80 good men to sail the ship. He has sent his Lieutenant to beat up for volunteers and to apply to the Board for further directions as to how he shall get them. |
