Kendal', Westmorland (including parts of Lancashire and the West Riding of Yorkshire): Ordnance Survey of England and Wales New Series one-inch map sheet 39, renumbered from Old Series one-inch sheet LXXXXVIII NE (Kendal) engraved at the Ordnance Survey Office Southampton and first published October 1864. New Series sheet printed from an electrotype taken in 1879. Embossed printing date: 'Board of Agriculture. Ordnance Survey, May 1891'. Stamped: 'Chief Mechanical Engineer's Department, Drawing Office, L&YRY [Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway], Horwich, 17 January 1895'. Also stamped: 'Ordnance Survey England and Wales, Stanford, Sole Agent, 26 & 27 Cockspur Street, Charing Cross [London]'
