Reports from the commanders-in-chief of the squadron or squadrons in the Mediterranean. Some from Sir John Norris in 1711 are in ADM 1/2; letters from Sir George Byng, 1720-22, relating to his former command, are in ADM 1/518. ADM 1/467-469 contains naval and diplomatic correspondence between the Admiralty, the Foreign Office and Admiral Codrington concerning the battle of Navarino and the admiral's subsequent dismissal. ADM 12/1-4 is an index to ships mentioned in flag officers' reports, 1711-1793.
