Catalogue description Office of Works: General Letter Books

The volumes up to 1832 in this series are entry books letters to (in letters) and from (out letters) the Office of Works; the remainder contain out letters only. From 1832 to 1851 the entry books were kept by the Works Department of the Office of Woods, Forests, Land Revenues, Works and Buildings.

Each volume from 1815 to 1818 and from 1832 to 1871 contains its own index.
