Karl KASTRO, alias Erich Karl Jakob HENSCHKE: German. KASTRO was reported to have received military training in the USSR and then to have been a member of the military apparat of the Communist Party in Germany. He arrived in the UK as a refugee in 1939 and was briefly interned in 1940 before working for the International Brigade Association. He returned to Germany in 1948 to work in the Press department of a trade union
