Description:

Captured goods: taken from the St Antoine (master Etienne Record).

History: a French merchant ship bound from Santa Cruz, Tenerife to Marseilles, laden with cocoa, wine and 8,500 dollars belonging to Spanish subjects; stopped and let go in the Straits of Gibraltar on 25 July 1743 [OS ?] by HMS Saltash (Edward Spragge commanding), but the money removed and freight of 2,000 dollars paid to the master.
