Folio(s) 65. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board, to William Kirk, Assistant Overseer, Blidworth parish of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, acknowledging a letter of 8 February 1856 explaining the irregularities reported to the Board by the district auditor after recent visit and audit of accounts. The letter states that the Board do not consider the explanation satisfactory and looking to the repeated cautions and warnings that they have addressed to him in the past and the repeated and continued instances of neglect on his part the Board consider that they cannot, consistently, with their public duty, permit him to retain his office. The Board, therefore, request that he immediately tender to the overseers his resignation of his office as assistant overseer of Blidworth parish.Paper Number: 4721/1856.
