Draft letter from the Poor Law Board, to William E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, acknowledging a letter of 7 February 1856, informing the Board of the illness of George Allsop, Relieving Officer of the Western district of the union, being unable, at present, to perform his duties. Under the circumstances, the Board approve the proposal to appoint Theophilus Winter, as substitute to Allsop, for one month.Annotated: enquire whether Mr Allsop has recovered and is able to resume the performance of his duties.
