Folio(s) 42-45. Letter from R B Spencer [Richard Birch Spencer], Clerk to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board. Enclosed is Emigration Form A relating to 'Notice of meeting to consent to raising money for emigration purposes' for the parish of Papplewick in the Basford Poor Law Union. Signed by Thomas Hurt, Minister; William Bradley, Churchwarden; William Palin, Overseer. Dated 11 February 1849.Also enclosed: Emigration Form B relating respectively to 'Resolution entered in the Vestry Book' for the parish of Papplewick in the Basford Poor Law Union, signed by Michael Machin, Chairman. Signed by Thomas Hurt, Minister; John Bradley, Churchwarden; William Palin, Overseer and witnessed by John Wood. Dated 11 February 1849.

Also enclosed: Emigration Form C relating to a 'Certificate of the minister, churchwardens and overseers of the forms of the Act having been complied with' for the parish of Papplewick in the Basford Poor Law Union. Signed by Thomas Hurt, Minister; William Bradley, Churchwarden; William Palin, Overseer and witnessed by John Wood. Dated 15 February 1849.

Also enclosed: A list and description of the persons desirous of emigrating from the parish of Papplewick to Australia. Those listed are Sarah Binch, Charwoman, and Maryann Binch, aged two.
