Folio 48. Letter from Samuel Harding, Clerk to the Guardians of the Newcastle under Lyme Poor Law Union to the Poor Law Board. Harding reports on the guardians' meeting held the previous day, in the presence of Andrew Doyle, Poor Law Inspector, regarding the case of immorality brought against Ambrose Taylor, Workhouse Baker and Porter. It was resolved that Taylor was 'deserving of the severest condemnation...should be strongly reprimanded and cautioned as to his future behaviour'.
