Folios 39-40. Letter from Samuel Harding, Clerk to the Guardians of the Newcastle under Lyme Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, forwarding a resolution of the board of guardians to ask the Poor Law Board to send an inspector to investigate a charge of immortality made against Ambrose Taylor, Workhouse Baker and Porter. Also encloses a statement from John Hand and Thomas Heath, dissenting minister. They accuse Taylor of getting Sarah Hand pregnant. She had three children [triplets] all of whom died, as did she shortly after birth.
