Folio 67. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission, to Thomas Day, Clerk to the Guardians of the Bromsgrove Poor Law Union, regarding the election of medical officers. The Commissioners have considered the circumstances detailed for the election of a medical officer for Redditch, district 2 and are of the opinion that Christopher Royston was duly elected but will wait until they receive the form of queries for him before sanctioning the same. The Commissioners sanction the appointment of T S Fletcher [Thomas Swindell Fletcher] as medical officer for Bromsgrove district number 1 including the workhouse. The Commissioners are disposed to sanction the appointment of J Hobbes for the Bellbroughton [Belbroughton] district number 4 as being the only candidate but first seek the form of queries. They will also await the form of queries for Alvechurch district number 3.
