Copies of treaties, articles of treaties, secret articles, draft treaties and other formal documents and papers connected with the various negotiations conducted by English or British ministers and envoys abroad. Some remarks on treaties, related draft proclamations, letters and memorials are included. The papers of a particular state may include papers relating to that state's colonies. The treaties include some marriage treaties. All the papers are in manuscript.
Most of the records are arranged either in alphabetical order of the states involved, or by individual treaties, the preliminary negotiations for the treaties, or assemblies for resolving disputes.
