High Court of Admiralty. Captured ship: De Snelle Jaager of Amsterdam otherwise El Casador Velos (master Caarl Christiaan Bünsow). History: a Dutch merchant ship (250 tons, 5 guns, 13 men), bound from Cadiz to Ostend, laden with brandy, wine, raisins, figs, cochineal, wool, indigo; taken on 30 December 1780 about 7 leagues SSW of the Lizard, Cornwall. by the privateers Garland (Richard Gambell commanding) and Good Intent (Sharrock Jenking commanding), and brought into Plymouth. Court papers: 1-119; Ship's papers: 120-163. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued]. |
