Description:

High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: Active (master Robert Cunningham).

History: an English merchant ship (300 tons, 13 men), bound from Jamaica to London, laden with rum, sugar, cotton, pimento; taken by French privateer Robecq and retaken on 30 November 1781 eight leagues off Scilly by HMS Crocodile (James King commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.

Court papers: 1-13; Ship's papers: 14-16. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
