Description:

High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: L'Actionnaire (commander Chevalier S de Querangel).

History: a French warship and troopship (1500 tons, 24 carriage guns and 6 swivel guns, 310 men and 540 troops), bound from Brest to the Isle de France [Mauritius], laden with provisions, cordage, wine, gunpowder, 4 masts and 11 chests of money; taken on 22 April 1782, 10 leagues from Scilly, by HMS Queen (Frederick Maitland commanding), and brought into Plymouth.

Court papers: 1-10; Ship's papers: 11-11. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
