History: an American merchant ship (schooner, 50 tons, 6 guns, 10 men), bound from the James River, Virginia to Curacao, laden with tobacco; taken on 13 March 1779 in latitude 37°N, longitude 75°W from London by the privateer Lord North (Charles McDonald commanding), and brought into [New York]. Court papers: 1-3; Ship's papers: 4-6. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued]. |
