Description:

Violet BECKER, aliases Lydia BECKER, Lydia BAKER: British. BECKER attracted attention in 1932 when, as employee of a London based Russian company, Russian Oil Products (ROP), she introduced her Russian boss, at his request and under alias, to one of her acquaintances, a British oil company employee. BECKER's boss, subsequently identified as KGB, was duly convicted and sentenced for bribery. BECKER claimed to be an innocent party in this transaction (her Communist affiliation initially raised some doubts about this)
