Administrative / biographical background:

Incorporated by act of 23rd July 1858. Under act of 28th June 1861, lease for 999 years for use of station by Great Western, and Chatham and Dover railway companies was authorised. Under South Eastern Railway (Southern Group) Preliminary Absorption Scheme 1922, dated 6th February 1923, Victoria Station and Pimlico Railway Company was transferred to and absorbed by Southern Railway Company from 1st January 1923 immediately after Railways (Southern Group) Amalgamation Scheme 1922, dated 22nd December 1922, came into operation and took effect.
