Provisional Minutes state company was termed Staines, Wokingham and Woking Junction Railway, but it was incorporated under act of 8th July 1853 as Staines, Wokingham and Woking Railway Company. Company was authorised to lease line to London and South Western Railway Company under act of 28th June 1858. This lease was granted to London and South Western Railway Company for 42 years from 25th March 1858, but provisional arrangement was made for this lease to be cancelled from 1st July 1877 and new lease to be granted to endure until completion of purchase of undertaking by London and South Western Railway Company. Under London and South Western Railway Act of 4th July 1878, amalgamation of Staines Wokingham and Woking Railway Company and London and South Western Railway Company was authorised.

London and South Western Railway Company became part of Southern Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under Railways (Southern Group) Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 22nd December 1922.
