Folios 398-399: James Galloway, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Acknowledges the letter and enclosures regarding John Pidgeon. He is on board HMS Princess, and identified as a deserter from the 90th Regiment, but no official application has been made for him. He has therefore been detained. ps: Navy slops amount £1 9s 11d, bed slops 13s. Folios 400-401: enclosure with folios 398-399: Alexander Lockhart Wilson, Sergeant, 2nd Battalion, 90th Regiment, Liverpool, to the Admiralty, 9 November 1810. Writes regarding a deserter, John Pidgeon, alias John Penson, on board HMS Princess. Sergeant Wilson was sent from Enniskillen, northern Ireland, to England in search of deserters and discovered John Pidgeon on 19 October. Captain Galloway, Commander of HMS Princess, informed Sergeant Wilson that he could not release John Pidgeon without an order, therefore he requests this so he can be returned to the Regiment. |
