Incorporated under act of 1846, 9 and 10 Vic, cap.52. By Act 10 and 11 Vic, cap.92 (1847), undertaking was purchased by Eastern Counties Railway Company. Under act of 7th August 1862, Eastern Counties Railway Company was amalgamated with East Anglian; Norfolk; Eastern Union; and East Suffolk railway companies, with their subsidiary undertakings, to form Great Eastern Railway Company. Great Eastern Railway Company became part of London and North Eastern Railway Company from 1st January 1923 under North Eastern, Eastern and East Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30th December 1922.
