Incorporated by Halesowen and Bromsgrove Railway Act of 5th July 1865. Company changed its name to Halesowen Railway Company under Section 14 of Halesowen Railway Act of 13th July 1876.

Line was worked and maintained by Great Western and Midland railway companies under agreement dated 30th July 1872, but Board continued to meet until final meeting of "Company in Liquidation" was held 22nd October 1907. Company was vested in Great Western and Midland railway companies jointly as from 30th June 1906 by section 45 of Midland Railway Act of 29th July 1906, management being vested in Great Western and Midland Railways Joint Committee, subsequently (on 1st January 1923) London Midland and Scottish and Great Western Railways Joint Committee, which Committee ceased on nationalisation of railways, 1st January 1948 under Transport Act 1947.
