Description:

Werner FISCHER alias Lauterbach: German. FISCHER was an anti-Nazi youth worker and Communist in pre-war Germany. He arrived in the UK via Czechoslovakia and France in 1939. During the Second World War he was active in the UK-based Free Germany organisations. In 1945 he was working for OSS. There is evidence that at that stage he was already a GRU agent or contact. In 1950 he was reported to be in the United States
