Reference: PRO 67
Title: Public Record Office: Registered Files (Numerical Series, 1971-1975)
Description:

Subject files dealing largely with questions of principle and policy. Many files deal with the work of the PRO's Records Administration Department (RAD) which was responsible for guiding the records work of other government departments. RAD files in this series deal with the appointment of places of deposit for public records outside the PRO and policy on the selection of records for preservation. Among other subjects covered are conservation of records, policy on the description of records in the PRO, machine-readable records, and policy on the copying of records for the public.

Files from the five-year record cycle, 1971 - 1975. Most of the files preserved are from the Records Administration Division of the PRO but there are also files relating to policy making (Keeper, Deputy Keeper and heads of divisions), the Conservation Section, the Editorial and Publications function and Reprographics.
