Description:

Folios 128-132. Copy out-letter [folios 131-132] marked 'secret' to Anthony Todd [Secretary to the General Post Office] from Evan Nepean [Under-Secretary] enclosing copies of material brought to [William Pitt] by [Robert Barry], a young Irish lawyer who had denied all knowledge of the sender or the content, requiring him to make enquiries before noon on 13 July when Barry was likely to be examined. Enclosed are copies of 2 letters [folios 128-130B], one date-stamped 8 July, to R Barry at 3 Craven Buildings, Strand [Westminster] from 'M', apparently implicating Barry in a plot to kill the king.
