Description: |
Folios 14A-18. Note from Lord Grenville [Foreign Secretary] that the accompanying papers should remain in the Home Office as they related to a man whose claims had 'been very troublesome to His Majesty'. Also a minute of a conversation of 14 June 1790 between Grenville [then Home Secretary] and [Captain A S Murray] regarding Murray's memorial to the king. Also a copy of an out-letter to Murray [from Evan Nepean, Under-Secretary] noting his threat to publish certain claims in the newspapers but stating Grenville's decision that, as those claims impugned the king's character, he could not take his case further. |
