Description: |
Lieutenant Colonel James Russel KENNEDY: British. As editor of the 'Army, Navy and Air Force Gazette' in the 1930s, KENNEDY came into contact with German journalists in London including some known to be German agents. During the war he held a post in the News and Publicity branch of the War Office but left briefly to become defence correspondent of the Star newspaper. Suspicions that KENNEDY's views, while anti-semitic, were also pro-Nazi are discounted |
