A Cypriot recruited by the Abwehr's Bremen station in 1941, GEORGIADES was trained as a radio spy in preparation for a mission to Cairo but fell foul of the Gestapo and was interned. When interrogated after the war, he claimed it had never been his intention to spy for Germany once out of the country
