Description:

This series contains files of the Ministry of Pensions and successors relating to many different aspects of policy on the award and administration of pensions and allowances to men and women injured while on war service, and to the dependents of the killed and injured.

The earliest files of the Ministry of Pensions were registered in a GEN series held at the Norcross headquarters office near Blackpool. Many of these papers were also subsequently registered or copied in the WPM and WPP series. The two series were opened in 1963, when war pensions work had moved to London.
