Description:

William Henry CARSON / Sarah CARSON, alias Sally FREEDMAN, FRIEDMAN: British. William CARSON fought briefly with the International Brigade in Spain in 1937. He was a British Communist Party (BCP) member from 1946 and employed by the Moscow Narodny Bank (MNB) from 1948 onwards. Sally CARSON joined the BCP in 1925 and after working for the MNB briefly was trained at the Wilson Wireless School in the Soviet Union as a W/T operator. In 1936 she operated a wireless link for the BCP to Moscow from a site in Essex. In the 1950s she was an accountant for the Society for Cultural Relations with the Soviet Union and active in Soviet-inspired 'peace' committees
