Andrew INGRAO: Italian. A psychologist, INGRAO was recruited into SOE in 1941 to help persuade Italian prisoners of war to work for the Allies. During training it became clear that he was unsuitable for secret work. By that time however he had gained so much knowledge of SOE operations that it was decided to intern him. In 1943 he was released and he returned to the USA
