Description:

Joseph Gerard ANDREWS: Irish. An enterprising and adventurous Irishman with a checkered history and IRA connections, ANDREWS established contact, in the early 1940s, with Hermann GOERTZ, an Irish-based German intelligence agent. ANDREWS assisted GOERTZ in various ways until the latter's arrest in late 1941 and, after that event, maintained contact with the Abwehr in Lisbon using GOERTZ's ciphers until his own arrest and internment in 1943
