| Description: | This dataset contains data from the annual reports which were submitted by Internal Drainage Boards (IDBs) to MAFF in 1997. The data therefore relates to the activities of IDBs in the previous financial year (1 April 1996 - 31 March 1997), and also includes preliminary information on special levies to be issued by IDBs in the current financial year (1 April 1997 - 31 March 1998). Unlike the datasets for the 1994/95 and 1995/96 financial years, this dataset does not include an IDB1AnnexA table: i.e. it does not contain data from the IDB 1 Annex A forms relating to Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) in IDB districts. It appears that no SSSI data from IDB returns was added to the IDB Database after 1995/96, and that the data was used instead to update a separate database on water level management plans. The dataset includes a lookup table for SSSIs (SSSIDetails), but this is redundant in the absence of an IDB1AnnexA table. The questions on the 1996/97 report forms were identical to those on the forms issued to IDB clerks for the previous financial year (1995/96), except for some minor changes to the IDB 1 Annex A form. The forms used for the 1995/96 reports were themselves almost entirely identical to the forms used for 1994/95. The 1996/97 IDB dataset is divided into 8 tables which correspond to the"forms" in which the data was originally held in the IDB Database. |
