| Description: | This dataset consists of data gathered from special schools and hospital schools in England during the Schools' Census conducted by the Department for Education in 1993. The enumeration date was the third Thursday in January (21 January 1993). The dataset contains data on the following types of schools: Special schools: day or boarding schools providing education for "children with special educational needs who cannot be educated satisfactorily in an ordinary school". Hospital special schools: schools providing education for "children who are spending a period in hospital". General hospital schools: schools not catering specifically for children with statements of special educational needs. The dataset consists of a single table (SCEN7M93) which contains one record per school. |
