Jean JEFFERSON: British. In 1932 JEFFERSON was associated with the Young Communist League in London. In 1936 she attended the Lenin School in Moscow. In 1938 she was working in Paris, according to a contemporary assessment 'in some way connected with an underground Communist group there'. In 1943 she was working at CPGB headquarters in London, and in February 1943 was recruited by Jimmy SHIELDS of the CPGB Control Commission to operate a Comintern radio station from her home in Wimbledon
