Description: |
Haj Amin el HUSSEINI: Palestinian. HUSSEINI, the Mufti of Jerusalem, first attracted attention in the 1930s when he was found to be receiving German and Italian support for an Arab revolt in Palestine. During 1942 and 1943 he was based in Berlin and became an instrument of pro-Axis propaganda. Many of his followers were adopted and trained by the RHSA and some were used as intelligence agents in the Middle East. Post-war, HUSSEINI returned to Cairo where he became a focus of dissident Palestinian activity and opposition to the formation of the state of Israel |
