Professor Herman Reinhard HAFERKORN: German. HAFERKORN was a Ph.D in English, pursued an academic career, including a spell at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth from 1925 to 1926, until the beginning of the Second World War, when he joined the German Foreign Office. Throughout the War he was in charge of the English Section of the Foreign Broadcast Department, supervising the radio work of renegade broadcasters such as John Amery and William Joyce
