Description: |
Anton Anjeivitch MILLER alias SILBER-KRANZ and Peter Anjeivitch MILLER alias Victor SEEMELS: Russian. Having gone to live in Australia in 1908, Peter MILLER returned to Russia in 1917 to serve in the army. He visited London in March 1920 as part of the Russian trade negotiating team led by KRASSIN. In 1922 he was mentioned as the Chief Cypher Clerk at the Soviet Trade Delegation. He was later associated with ARCOS and was shown to be connected with the KIRCHENSTEIN group of intelligence agents. After the police raid on ARCOS he returned to the Soviet Union where, together with his brother, Anton, he was shot, for no clearly intelligible reason. Anton had been described as subordinate Cypher Clerk and, during the ARCOS raid was caught in the act of destroying documents. On the basis of photographic comparisons it was thought possible that he might have been identical with 'Peter the Painter', who was involved in the Sidney Street Siege |
