John Wilson Croker. There were no arrears at 31st December 1826 in the Pursers' slop accounts. At that time 46 final accounts were open, 25 being in course of examination. The arrears to which we alluded in our letter were principally for the period between 1803 and 1809 and an account of those remaining open is enclosed. In clearing arrears it has been the practice to clear the most recent first as there is more chance of those involved being alive. |
