Content: Folios 295-296. Letter from Joseph Jones [Master of Llanfyllin Union Workhouse] to the Poor Law Board stating in answer to their enquiry that he was absent from the workhouse to visit a tradesman in Llanfyllin concerning supplies. The inmates were in bed and the matron was present. He was also absent on another occasion to attend a funeral. Annotation by A D [Andrew Doyle] suggesting a copy of the letter be sent to the guardians for comment. Paper Number: 20856/1849. Poor Law Union Number 621. Counties: Montgomeryshire.
