Description:
Content: Folios 263-264B. Letter from T Prichard [Thomas Prichard] to the Poor Law Board. Mr Edwards [Thomas Edwards], Medical Officer for Llansantffraid [Llansanffraid] in the Llanfyllin Union, has gone to live at Llanfyllin which renders his post vacant. However Edwards has asked the guardians' permission to remain in office with an assistant at Llansantffraid. Prichard fears the guardians may sanction this arrangement, which he thinks contravenes regulations. Prichard served as medical officer for Llanfyllin for ten years, giving good service: having left Llanfyllin and given up his post he is going to live in Llansantffraid in the house formerly occupied by Edwards. He asks the Board for a ruling before 5 June, when he will otherwise have to oppose Edwards's appointment. Annotated: 'answer'. Paper Number: 16813/1849. Poor Law Union Number 621. Counties: Montgomeryshire.
