Content: Folios 28-29. Form of appointment for James Lewis, Medical Officer, Cardiff District of the Cardiff Poor Law Union. Medical Officer of the Cardiff District since the formation of the union. No vacancy, but alteration of district prompts this re-appointment at a salary of £75 per annum from 3 April 1847 until further alteration. Form signed by T Watkins [Thomas Watkins], Clerk to the Guardians of the Cardiff Poor Law Union and countersigned by the appointee, James Lewis. Annotated: drawing attention to the excess of area and secondly sanction of the appointment in consequence of rearrangement of the districts. Appointment sanctioned because of rearrangement of Districts Paper Number: 9817/B/1847. Poor Law Union Number 613. Counties: Glamorganshire and Monmouthshire.
