Philip Stephens. We are to enter 50 Shipwrights at Deptford and 30 at Woolwich but because of previous orders we have directed all yards to increase their number of Shipwrights and Caulkers and all Officers are under orders to enter a greater number than hitherto they have been able to procure. We will try to increase the Shipwrights, Caulkers and Artificers and workmen in every other branch, to speed the buildings, repairs and equipment of the Fleet. |
