Content: Folios 16-23. Letter from Samuel Harding, Clerk to the Guardians of the Newcastle Under Lyme Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, enclosing the completed forms for three medical officers for its approval. Daniel Antrobus of Audley had been parochial surgeon in Audley and was now a Medical Officer of the union. The salary was £25 per annum. He was continuing in post. George Tait of Newcastle Under Lyme had been parish surgeon and medical officer for the Wolstanton and Burslem Poor Law Union. The salary was £60 per annum. The post became vacant after district renewal. Richard Lathbury Dudley of Newcastle Under Lyme had been a practicing medical man in Newcastle. The salary was £15 per annum. The post became vacant because of a division in the district. Annotated: note: gives the area, population, salaries and medical qualifications of Whitmore, Newcastle Under Lyme and Audley, with a further note regarding ascertaining the population and size of the district in the Wolstanton and Burslem Union.
