Content: Folio 350. The report of a visit made by the Commissioners in Lunacy to the Clutton Poor Law Union on 29 October 1849 by Dr Hume and [W Campbell]. It is noted that as well as those listed below there may have been others in different parts of the building, but poor record keeping made it difficult to find them. The form includes details of diet, accommodation and treatment, and of particular cases. Those cases mentioned are: George Chievers, idiot. Henry Latchin, weak. Stephen Sanders. James Wallace, insane. John Holbrook. Ann Smith, idiot. [M Barnete], weak. Mary Bale, insane. Annotated: the workhouse master is known for his inefficiency and poor at record keeping.
